Correct wheel alignment supports precise steering, even tyre wear and stable handling. We align all BMW MINI models and adjust the intended values to the manufacturer’s specifications wherever this is technically possible on the respective vehicle.
Wheel alignment is not a maintenance service with a fixed interval. It is particularly useful when the vehicle behaves unusually, the tyres wear unevenly or work and modifications have been carried out on the steering or suspension.
When is wheel alignment recommended?
The wheel geometry can change through wear, a hard impact with a kerb, an accident or work on the suspension. Typical reasons for a wheel alignment include:
- The MINI pulls to one side: On a reasonably level road, the vehicle does not maintain a straight direction.
- The steering wheel is off-centre: When driving straight ahead, the steering wheel is no longer in its normal central position.
- The tyres wear unevenly: One-sided or unusual wear can indicate incorrect wheel geometry or worn suspension components.
- The MINI feels unsettled or responds unusually: Vague, nervous or unfamiliar steering behaviour should be checked.
- After work on the suspension or steering: The wheel geometry should be checked and adjusted if necessary after replacing components that affect the suspension, steering or axles.
- After lowering or modifying the suspension: A change in ride height affects the wheel geometry and requires a subsequent alignment.
- After a hard kerb impact or accident: The wheel geometry may have changed even when no damage is immediately visible.
What is measured and adjusted during wheel alignment?
During the alignment, we measure the MINI’s wheel geometry and compare the measured values with the specified tolerance ranges. We then adjust the technically adjustable values to the manufacturer’s specifications.

Not every measured value can be adjusted on every MINI. The available adjustments depend on the model generation, suspension and fitted components. We adjust the intended values as far as technically possible and explain any values that cannot be corrected without additional work.
If the MINI pulls to one side
A vehicle pulling to one side is not automatically caused by incorrect wheel geometry. Tyres, tyre pressures, worn suspension components or a brake that does not release completely can also affect the vehicle’s behaviour.
If the alignment values are within specification or the problem cannot be corrected through adjustment, the actual cause must be investigated further. Wheel alignment does not replace repairs to defective brakes, steering or suspension components.
What is included in the standard price?
The standard price applies to a normally performable wheel alignment with the technically possible standard adjustments. It includes:
- Clear vehicle identification using the complete vehicle identification number
- Measurement of the front and rear axles
- Comparison with the specified values for the respective MINI
- Adjustment of the intended values within the normal scope of work
- Final control measurement

Requirements for a reliable adjustment
Wheel alignment can only be adjusted reliably if the relevant suspension and steering components do not have excessive wear or play. Worn components must therefore be replaced before an accurate and lasting adjustment can be completed.
Not automatically included in the standard price
- Replacement of worn or damaged suspension and steering components
- Releasing seized or heavily corroded adjustment points
- Additional work caused by damaged or previously modified components
- Repairs to brakes, tyres, steering or suspension
- Further individual suspension setup or additional modification work

Wheel alignment for lowered MINIs
We also align lowered MINIs and vehicles with aftermarket suspension. The wheel geometry is adjusted as far as possible to the specified values for the vehicle. The achievable values depend on the fitted suspension, ride height and available adjustment range.
The wheel geometry should be checked after fitting lowering springs, sports suspension or coilovers. Additional suspension work or a more extensive individual setup is not automatically included in the standard wheel alignment price.

How long does wheel alignment take?
A standard wheel alignment takes approximately 1 to 1.5 hours. If all adjustment points can be released normally and no additional defects are found, you can wait in our waiting area by prior arrangement.
Worn suspension components, seized adjustment points or additional repairs will increase the time required. We carry out additional work only after discussing it with you and receiving your approval.
