The gearbox ensures that your MINI transfers engine power smoothly to the road. If it’s not working properly, you’ll notice immediately – gears become hard to engage, grind, or jerk. To prevent this, we inspect and overhaul your gearbox professionally – or replace it completely if necessary.

When is a gearbox overhaul or replacement necessary?

• Shifting becomes difficult: If gears grind, pop out, or can only be engaged with force, it’s usually due to wear on the clutch, synchronizer rings, or shifting mechanism.
• Unusual noises: Whining, knocking, or vibrations while driving or idling indicate bearing or gear damage. Early diagnosis prevents costly secondary damage.
• Oil leakage: Leaking shaft seals or housing can lead to insufficient lubrication – the gearbox runs dry and wears out faster. That’s why checking the oil level regularly is important.
